CAMBRIDGE — The biotechnology company Biogen Idec Inc. said yesterday that its chief operating officer plans to retire at the end of the year.
Robert A. Hamm, 58, will depart Dec. 31 after 16 years at Biogen Idec, the company said.
The announcement comes as Biogen Idec prepares to name a new chief executive to replace James C. Mullen, 51, who is retiring effective today. Biogen Idec said it will choose a successor in the next few weeks.![]()
