Fallon Clinic, a Worcester medical group practice in Central Massachusetts, said it has changed its name to Reliant Medical Group.
The independent group recently affiliated with Newton’s Atrius Health, a partnership of six community medical groups serving nearly 1 million adult and pediatric patients in Eastern and Central Massachusetts. Reliant itself has more than 250 doctors and 1,700 employees at more than 20 practices across Central Massachusetts.
Fallon Clinic had long been aligned with Worcester insurer Fallon Community Health Plan, but the two organizations separated in 2004. The name change was partly an effort to clear up confusion about the clinic’s relationship with the health plan.
