Amgen raises future CEO Bradway's pay to $1.4M

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.—Amgen Inc. said Tuesday that it will raise Robert Bradway's annual salary to $1.4 million from just over $1 million as part of his promotion to CEO.

Bradway is Amgen's president and chief operating officer. He will take over from Kevin Sharer as CEO on May 23; the pay raise takes effect May 21.

The largest biotechnology company in the world, Amgen also is raising Bradway's cash incentive target to 130 percent of his base salary.

Amgen also amended its performance units and goals for 2012 to 2014 to include Allergan Inc. and Celgene Corp. in its peer group.
