Skyworks revenue, profit soar in quarter

Woburn-based Skyworks Solutions, which makes high-performance analog semiconductors, said it exceeded its guidance for both revenue and profit for the first quarter of fiscal year 2014. Skyworks said revenue for the quarter was $505.2 million, up 11 percent from the same period a year ago. Excluding items, adjusted earnings came in at 67 cents per share, compared with 55 cents in the prior year. “Skyworks is off to a great start in fiscal 2014 as we exceeded guidance and delivered strong performance across all key financial and operational metrics,” said David J. Aldrich, president and chief executive.
