Mimecast, a supplier of cloud-based e-mail archiving, continuity, and security services, said Thursday that it has officially opened its North American headquarters in nearly 34,000 square space in the recently renovated Riverworks office complex in Watertown.

Previously, Mimecast was located in the Waltham Watch Factory.

Mimecast’s new office in the former Boston Scientific Building in Watertown represents an increase of over 90 percent in space, Mimecast said in a press release.

The company, which also has offices in Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco, said it expects to have more than 200 US employees by the end of the year, including a 30-percent headcount increase in Greater Boston.

“We wanted to create a space that mirrored our business needs, fit our expanding headcount, and complemented our organization’s personality,” Mark Bilbe, Mimecast’s general manager for North America, said in a statement. “We have experienced incredible expansion across the US and needed to accommodate our current and future growth in Boston with a space focused on employee collaboration and wellness.”

Among the wellness features in the new office: eight sleeping beds with relaxation bean bags and a full-size yoga and workout studio.

Riverworks’ owner is Farley White, a Boston-based company that owns commercial real estate. Jones Lang LaSalle is the leasing agent.

Riverworks is now just over 50 percent leased, Jones Lang LaSalle said.
