Grains futures rise, livestock prices drop

CHICAGO (AP) — Grain prices mostly rose Tuesday in early trading on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery added 7.5 cents to $7.80 a bushel; December corn gained 12.75 cents to $6.685 a bushel; December oats were unchanged at $3.4725 a bushel; while November soybeans rose 16 cents to $14.54 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle dipped 0.07 cent to $1.192 a pound; August feeder cattle fell 1.15 cent to $1.485 a pound; while August lean hogs shed 0.47 cent to 94.50 cents a pound.end of story marker
