The S&P 500 has logged another record. This week, the index rose above its previous all-time high several times but faded before the closing bell. On Thursday, the gains stuck. The index got a lift from strong earnings at drug maker Mylan and other companies. The market has staged a turnaround in February, after slumping at the start of the year on worries about China’s growth and the US economy’s health. The Dow is still below its record of 16,576.66, and the Nasdaq is short of its record close of 5,048.62. Stocks got a boost this month from the new Fed chief, Janet Yellen. She told Congress she’ll continue the central bank’s low-interest rate policies.
