When you think of chocolate, you think of Switzerland. Now the isolated country’s most recognizable chocolate company has made its latest move to subsume the chocolate market overseas.

Lindt & Sprüngli has made plans to acquire Russell Stover Candies, a US company famous for its boxed chocolate, The New York Times reports.

Lindt has amassed a veritable chocolate empire.

The chocolate maker already owns the San Francisco company Ghirardelli. The recent purchase of Russell Stover stands to make Lindt the third largest chocolate producer in North America, according to the Times.

Russell Stover, the Times noted, was popularized after its chocolate boxes were featured during the film “Forrest Gump” when Gump munches on the chocolates while on a bus bench. Those chocolates inspired the now famous line, “My mama always said, life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”

The company is based in Kansas City.
