Regulators held up Geron’s study of a therapy for injured spinal cords before any patients could be enrolled, delaying the first human trial using embryonic stem cells. The halt was ordered after Geron shared data from dosing studies in animals. It was the Menlo Park, Calif., company’s biggest single-day decline in more than five months.
