Stocks rose worldwide as gains in metals boosted the profit outlook for raw-materials companies. Gold climbed above $1,000 an ounce. The MSCI World Index rose after Credit Suisse said investors should favor stocks over bonds and cash. ‘The economy is growing again around the world, and that’s the big thing for stocks,’ said Howard Ward, at Gamco Investors.
