Shares of Nike Inc. - a company Stifel Nicolaus & Co.’s Thomas Shaw says is a solid market player - rose after quarterly profit, while flat, topped expectations. Job cuts and greater market share helped. Shaw said future orders are stabilizing, and Nike holds $3.1 billion in cash it will use aggressively. Nike forecast a 2010 sales decline, with improvement in the second half. The stock is up 18 percent this year.
