Hopkinton-based EMC Corp. rose yesterday along with other technology shares after Barclays PLC analyst Ben Reitzes upgraded the hardware sector to “positive’’ from “neutral,’’ saying demand for the computer server and storage systems made by companies like EMC is picking up. “We believe investors are expecting growth for 2010; but we would note that survey respondents are likely being conservative in their outlook for 2010 given recent economic pressures,’’ Reitzes said. North Reading-based Teradyne advanced more than 4 percent. IBM, which had its share-price estimate increased to $140 from $119, also rose the most in about three months.![]()
