American Tower gets ‘buy’ recommendation

Boston-based American Tower Corp., which has a portfolio of over 23,700 communications sites, has been upgraded to “buy’’ by TheStreet.com’s stock-rating model, the website reported. Second-quarter net income was down 65 percent to $56 million, but earnings per share climbed 8 percent to 13 cents, The Street.com said, and revenue increased 8 percent to $423 million. The stock has advanced about 28 percent this year.
