Thermo Fisher dips despite new test

Waltham-based Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. made available in Europe its new Copeptin test, which helps medical personnel quickly and accurately diagnose a heart attack. Copeptin, used in combination with another test, can help medical personnel “rule out or confirm the onset of a heart attack within minutes,’’ Thermo Fisher Scientific said. The company said the current method physicians rely on - an electrocardiogram in combination with Troponin -cannot indicate a heart attack until at least 4 hours after the onset of symptoms.
