New York retirement giant TIAA-CREF has hired Fidelity Investments veteran Teresa Hassara to run client services for its large institutional customers, the company is expected to say today.
Hassara will be senior managing director and head of institutional client services for TIAA-CREF. Working out of Boston, she will lead the part of the company responsible for servicing retirement plans at more than 15,000 colleges and universities, teaching hospitals, and nonprofits - the largest segment of the $402 billion managed by TIAA-CREF.
At Boston-based Fidelity, the nation’s largest manager of retirement funds, Hassara was a senior vice president of investment services. In her new position, she will report to Maliz Beams, an executive vice president also based in Boston. Beams said Hassara brings with her an “important connection between institutional and individual businesses.’’
TIAA-CREF also plans to say it has hired Kevin Nazworth as vice president and head of its hospital business, a new position. He will be responsible for bringing in new hospital clients and will be based in Charlotte, N.C.![]()
