Boeing Co. had the biggest retreat in the Dow average. Its bigger rival, Airbus SAS, plans to progressively ramp up jetliner production as orders climb, the head of the French company’s parent, European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co., said yesterday. Airbus, the number one plane maker since overtaking Boeing in 2003, is benefiting as airlines refresh fleets with more fuel-efficient planes.
