MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. slid 14 percent to its lowest price since October 2002 a day after the solar panel wafer maker lowered its guidance for the full year, citing falling prices, as well as softening demand in another of its markets, semiconductors. The company reported Wednesday that its second-quarter profit climbed. But analysts, surprised by the diminished expectations for the year, were unimpressed.
