The online travel company reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $5.49 per share, which easily beat the $4.85 per share expected by analysts. Revenue rose 44 percent to $1.1 billion. Analysts predicted $1.08 billion. Mark Mahaney of Citi Investment Research cited the quarterly results and an impressive increase in bookings. Mahaney said Priceline is well positioned among affordable hotels.
