An extended-release Parkinson’s disease drug being developed by the Hayward, Calif., company and GlaxoSmithKline helped patients in a clinical trial more than a generic product, the companies said. Patients had significantly less “off time,’’ or waking time when their medication wore off and the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease returned.
