The Fed did what investors expected - said it will buy long-term Treasurys and sell short-term ones in a bid to help the economy. Stocks fell anyway; the Fed also said full recovery is probably years away, given the big problems at home and abroad. ‘The markets apparently were hoping for a large magic Vitamin C pill,’ said Barton Biggs, at Traxis Partners.
