Research In Motion Ltd. , maker of the BlackBerry smartphone, rose 12 percent, the most in 2 1/2 years, on continuing speculation the Ontario company may be a takeover target. RIM’s stock is down 59 percent this year as the company loses market share. But the stock has perked up amid speculation Vodafone Group may make a bid and rumors that RIM asked an investment bank to evaluate its options.
