Priceline.com Inc., the biggest U.S. online travel agency by stock market value, gained after third- quarter profit and sales topped analyst estimates. The company, whose ads use actor William Shatner to promote its name-your-own-price service, reported that net income more than doubled to $469.5 million, or $9.17 a share. Excluding some costs, profit was $9.95 a share, compared with the $9.30 average of 20 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
