The producer of whole bean coffee posted a first-quarter profit of 25 cents a share, missing the average analyst estimate of 31 cents. Shares of Peet’s Coffee & Tea Inc., which is based in Emeryville, Calif., lost 8.1 percent, the most since March 2011. Peet’s confirmed its fiscal 2012 guidance and expects total net revenue growth of about 10 percent and diluted earnings per share of $1.70 to $1.80.
