The busiest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, is here. Many shoppers and extreme bargain hunters are looking for the best possible deals. Stores like Old Navy, Best Buy, Macy’s at CambridgeSide Galleria mall in Cambridge opened at midnight offering big discounts that attracted a big crowd.

By 5 a.m. more people coming in to the mall.

Best Buy opened its doors at midnight, offering “in-store-only doorbusters.”

Bruno and Cherish Deoliveira started shopping at midnight at Target in Watertown and finished off their shopping at CambridgeSide Galleria mall. “We got amazing deals on furniture there, now we are here to shop for some clothes,” said Cherish.

Hovik Jamsakian of Watertown spent $400 on shoes and clothes. “I have been here since midnight, and I have to be at work at 8 a.m. Even though I am very tired, I still think it was worth coming, because I bought many things that were on big sale,” he said.

Rima Chila, a student at Northeastern from India, got very tired after shopping for five hours. “I bought many things from Old Navy. Tthey had everything on sale,” she said.

Long lines formed at Old Navy “cheermageddon,” as they offered great deals on all of their merchandise.

Some stores like J.Crew, Apple, and T.J.Maxx opened their doors at 6 a.m.

Apple is offering “one-day shopping event” with special pricing on their products.

The line to the Apple store started on the second floor of the CambridgeSide Galleria mall.

The line continued downstairs in front of the store.

Guosimram Sidhu (left) and Anch Decai were waiting in line to get a MacBook Pro from Apple. “We went to the Microsoft store at Prudential Center to get Xbox, which was a great steal. Now we are waiting to get the Macbook. We are going to save about $100 on it,” said Decai.

Anton Kiartansson had a lot of coffee as he continued shopping at the Apple store. “I want to get an iPod touch. I should be able to save some money on it,” he explained.

Like Mary Dickerson (left), many shoppers were looking for great deals on clothes. She was shopping at Club Monaco, which offered additional savings on already reduced price items.

Stephanie Savion of Quincy spent $200 on different things, including a Star Wars theme radio that she bought from Best Buy after standing in a long line. “I think I got a good deal on it, but I don’t think I am going to shop again on Black Friday. It is too exhausting,” she explained.

John Louis of Chelsea decided to start holiday shopping for his girlfriend on Black Friday. “She told me what she wants, and I knew it was going to be on sale, I couldn’t miss it,” he said.

Michael Evans, who is a sales associate at Macy’s, spent his break time shopping at different stores. “I am not looking for any bargain, I think there is not much of a difference in prices,” said Evans.

Agatha Sweeney (left) and Beonadette Mcgeough, both from Ireland, came to the United States specifically to shop. “We come here every two years to shop for clothing. There are many brands that we don’t have in Ireland. Even if we do, it is too expensive,” said Sweeney.

Danny Samit came to the mall around 4 a.m. and bought a tuxedo from Macy’s for his brother’s wedding. “The deal was too good to miss out,” he explained.
