Labor violations at the Boston Marriott Copley Plaza’s renovation
A Globe investigation found the renovation of the Copley Marriott was rife with labor violations. One contractor used workers from a Philadelphia drug rehabilitation ministry, paying them just $4 an hour.

Through his relationship with the church, Carter was hired for three months renovating Boston's Copley Place Marriott under contractor George Herrera. Carter said he was paid $200 a week in cash for working more than 40 hours a week moving furniture in the hotel.
