A123 Systems Inc. files for bankruptcy
Once a clean-tech darling, the Waltham battery maker, which received more than $200 million in government support, failed as demand for electric cars and its batteries didn’t materialize.
Governor Deval Patrick toured A123 Systems in Watertown after the company went public in 2009. He and A123 CEO David Vieau, left, talked afterward with media about the company's role in the state's clean energy sector and A123's initial public offering.
