Kohl’s Department Stores has scheduled a Friday Sept. 27 grand opening ceremony for a new location in Hyannis that will employ about 125 people.

The roughly 54,800 square foot Hyannis store is located at 65 Independence Drive. It is the 25th Kohl’s store to open in Massachusetts. The store manager is Jeff Marshall.

New store features include updated check-out stations, newly designed shopping carts and strollers, redesigned fitting rooms and beauty department, fitting room lounges in misses and juniors, an expanded customer service area located at the front of the store,  in-store Kohl’s Kiosks, electronic signs in all departments, and Wi-Fi throughout the store, Wisconsin-based Kohl’s said.

The Hyannis store will have one electric vehicle (EV) charging station with two parking spaces for customers to charge at no cost while they shop. With this addition, the company’s total number of locations with EV charging stations is 63 nationwide.

Kohl’s is a chain with nearly 1,160 stores in 49 states
