Smarter Travel and FlipKey will relocate from offices in Charlestown and Boston, with move-in anticipated to begin in the last quarter of 2013.
The broker is Richards Barry Joyce & Partners LLC, which represented 226 Causeway’s landlord in the transaction. Located near North Station, 226 Causeway St. has offices on its lower floors and residences on the upper floors. The residential floors are branded as Strada 234.
The lease brings 226 Causeway St. to 90 percent occupancy with the majority of the vacancy in the building’s retail area, Richards Barry Joyce said.
“226 Causeway is an excellent location for any company, particularly a creative technology company such as TripAdvisor,” Michael Joyce, managing partner of Richards Barry Joyce, said in a statement. “Additionally, North Station is one of the most active areas in Boston, with more than $1.2 billion in development underway.”
The TripAdvisor subsidiaries were represented in lease negotiations by Cushman & Wakefield and Columbia Group Realty Advisors Inc.
