Boston’s Boylston Street is the seventh most expensive street in the US for office rents, according to a new survey from Jones Lang LaSalle.
A stretch of Silicon Valley’s Sand Hill Road, which runs near Stanford University, is the most expensive US office street, said Jones Lang LaSalle, a large commercial real estate firm, and Fifth Avenue in New York City is second.
In 1980, a bottle of Bud could be had for a buck at Henry’s, a saloon on Palo Alto’s University Avenue. (We have that on the best authority, the $1 Budweiser.) Today University Avenue ranks third on the Jones Lang LaSalle list of most expensive streets in the US, just ahead of fourth ranked Greenwich Street in Fairfield County, Conn., and fifth-ranked Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.
