Christopher Gorton tapped to be president of Tufts Health Plan subsidiary

Christopher “Kit” Gorton, MD, has been appointed president of Network Health, a Tufts Health Plan subsidiary that provides access to health care for nearly 220,000 Massachusetts residents with low and moderate incomes. Gorton will also serve as senior vice president at Tufts Health Plan, the Watertown-based plan said.  “Kit is an accomplished leader, with expertise in working with Medicaid and its managed care programs, health care analytics, and medical and behavioral health management,” Tom Croswell, president and chief operating officer of Tufts Health Plan, said in a statement. “He brings the breadth of experience we need to deliver on our goals and best serve our members.” Most recently, Gorton was chief executive for Amerigroup Virginia, an organization that provides Medicaid services to nearly 57,000 members from low income families or with disabilities.
