Cynosure Inc., a developer and manufacturer of lasers used for such aesthetic applications as hair and tattoo removal, has signed a lease that greatly expands its presence at Westford Corporate Center following its recent acquisition of Palomar Medical Technologies Inc., a broker involved in the transaction said Tuesday.
The broker is Cushman & Wakefield, which said that Cynosure is leasing 144,541 square feet of space at 3 and 5 Carlisle Road in the Westford office park. According to Cushman & Wakefield, the transaction represents one of the largest suburban leases of 2013.
Cynosure is currently leasing just over 68,000 square feet at Westford Corporate Center.
In June, Cynosure completed its previously announced $294 million acquisition of Palomar, a Burlington company with a complementary portfolio of products. When that transaction was first announced in March, Cynosure indicated that it was considering relocating to Burlington.
But earlier this month, Nordblom Co., a real estate firm, announced that it had bought Palomar’s headquarters in Burlington from Cynosure for $25.75 million.
Palomar’s operations will be relocated to Westford, a Cynosure spokesman said.
Cushman & Wakefield executive vice presidents Michael Frisoli and J.R. McDonald represented Cynosure during lease negotiations for space at Westford Corporate Center.
Cushman & Wakefield executive directors Richard Ruggiero and Torin Taylor represented Normandy Partners in the negotiations. Normandy Partners is the landlord of Westford Corporate Center.
