The market will open into a retail floor with 28,000 square-feet of space.

The space is designed to function like a daily farmer’s market with vendors selling everything from flowers to fish and produce.

The market is also expected to sell a variety of prepared foods at stalls throughout the facility. There will also be seating areas for customers to eat.

The market will also feature a demonstration kitchen, where chefs will show patrons how to prepare different dishes.

Plans for the market have been in development for more than a decade.

The market will be operated by a nonprofit company with funding from the state and private donors.

Massachusetts vendors will get first preference for space in the market, but businesses from across New England will also be welcome.
