It's been one of Toyota's top selling cars. But now around 1.9 million of its third-generation Prius model are to be recalled over a faulty software system. The problem is down to a programming glitch in its hybrid system. Toyota said the fault could cause the vehicle to slow down suddenly and even stop. The majority of the recalls—about half—are in Japan with a further 700,000 in the North America. So far there have been no reported accidents or injuries.
