Fay, Spofford & Thorndike, which specializes in engineering and planning services, announced the acquisition of the Norfolk Ram Group, an 18-person environmental engineering, consulting, and project management firm based in Plymouth.
Financial terms of the transaction were not included in the company press release.
Burlington-based Fay, Spofford & Thorndike, which also refers to itself as FST, said that it now has nearly 300 employees in nine offices throughout the Northeast.
In a statement, FST president and chief executive Peter Howe noted that the acquisition is part of a strategic plan for expanding and bolstering the firm’s services geographically.
Adding the Norfolk Ram Group’s people and portfolio not only strengthens FST’s civil/site and wastewater practices, but the acquisition also “adds a significant private sector and municipal client base in Southeastern Massachusetts, and brings us new product lines in the environmental science sectors,” Howe said.
“The cross selling opportunities are substantial,” he added
All the Norfolk Ram Group’s employees have transitioned to FST, including managing partner Mark Bartlett, FST said.
The acquisition is FST’s second in less than a year. Last May, the firm acquired DeLuca-Hoffman Associates Inc. of South Portland, Maine.
