Reports: BJ’s Wholesale Club inks tentative deal for Roxbury store

BJ’s Wholesale Club has tentatively agreed to open a store in Roxbury, according to the Boston Business Journal.

The Westborough-based chain would open a 90,000 square-foot store within a proposed 1.7-million square-foot mixed-use development known as Tremont Crossing or Parcel 3, the Journal reported.

The store would open by the spring of 2017 if a lease agreement can be signed in the next few months, according to The Boston Globe.

Tremont Crossing is slated to be built on a seven-acre site across from the Boston Police headquarters on Tremont Street.

The project led by P-3 Partners LLC calls for more than 400,000 square-feet of retail space, 300 residential units, 200 hotel rooms, 200,000-plus square feet of office space, 37,500 square feet of museum and cultural space and 1,502 parking spaces, according to plans.

Developers are seeking approval from the Boston Redevelopment Authority for the project.
