Lower the speed limit

In 1974, Congress and the Nixon administration imposed a 55-mile-per-hour national speed limit to try to save gas during the Arab oil embargo. It was repealed in 1995, but some members of Congress have recently suggested that the United States set a national speed limit again in response to rising gas prices.
