Watch for missing bills or mail
The mail can be an easy inroad to your personal information, and the mailbox outside your home is a red-flag raising access point. Be diligent in collecting your mail from your mailbox, and do not leave bill payments there for the mailman to pick up. Instead, drop them off in a mailbox or directly at the post office, suggests Bankrate.
When you move, notify all creditors, doctors, banks, and any other companies that send you statements or bills by mail. If anything is missing, contact the sender.
