Order a credit report once a year

Once a year, check into your credit by requesting a report from one of the three major companies: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. The report should list all bank accounts and credit cards in your name. This will let you know if your identity has been used by someone to open fraudulent accounts, according to the Department of Justice.
