10. Carefully research student loans
There are several good private loan options to choose from. But remember: all loans are not the same. Each comes with different features including fees, repayment lengths, loan limits, availability by school, and credit requirements.
Also look into immediate repayment loans offered by organizations such as MEFA, which can offer low rates and low monthly bills to students going to school in Massachusetts, or Bay State students attending college in another state, says Jessica Belt of MEFA.
Be sure to review all the terms and benefits to ensure you're choosing the best loan for the long haul. And always apply with a creditworthy co-signer to dramatically increase your chances for approval.
