Schools may benefit from casino money
A State Senate measure would devote casino money to Massachusetts school districts that were due more state funding through a 2006 law, but have yet to receive it. This chart shows which districts would benefit most if the measure becomes law. Schools that are already receiving the full amount of aid called for in the 2006 law would get no extra money. Note that the state is not expected to collect enough in casino taxes to make up the entire gap between what was promised and what was received. Figures are for the 2011-12 school year.
