Will my husband and I pay taxes in both MA and PA after our move?
Q: We moved from Boston to PA in November. I stopped working then but my husband's job continued. His company continued to take out MA taxes until 1/04 and did not take out any PA taxes. Do we need to file a MA and a PA state tax form and will we end up paying taxes in both places?

A: I am assuming your husband's income was earned in MA and PA. You will need to file part year returns in both MA and PA and pay your tax on the income earned in each state. Since your husband's employer continued to withhold MA taxes and did not withhold PA taxes, you will most likely end up with a MA refund and an amount due to PA.
