To which state do I owe tax from the sale of some ISO stock options?
I live in New Hampshire, and this past year my job moved to Massachusetts. I did a same day sale of some ISO stock options while employed in Massachusetts. Do I owe Mass. state tax on the sale? My employer seems to have included the amount in my Mass W-2 instead of my N.H. one. - Steve, Manchester, N.H.
As a professor, can I deduct home office costs?
I am a professor who works from home on my research three days a week. Can I take any deductions for use of my home computer, paper, and printing? —Michael, Beverly
Do I need to register my business in other states?
I have a registered sole proprietorship in the state of Connecticut. It is a consulting company. As I expand my business, I have potential clients in Mass. and New York. Do I need to register my business there or just pay taxes to those states? —Dianne, Rocky Hill
