NEW YORK—Nokia Corp. said Friday that Daniel R. Hesse, who was named president and chief executive of Sprint Nextel Corp. earlier this month, has resigned from the cell phone maker's board.
Hesse served on Nokia's board since 2005. Previously, he was chairman and CEO of Embarq Corp., Sprint's former traditional wireline division that was spun off last year.
With Hesse's departure, the Finnish company has 10 directors.
Nokia shares gained 35 cents to $39.05 in afternoon trading.![]()
