NEW YORK—Shares of major microchip companies fell with the broader technology market Friday, in part because of a disappointing second-quarter outlook from MEMC Electronic Materials Inc., which provides silicon wafers used in chip production.

Here is a look at how major chip companies fared in trading Friday:

Intel Corp. fell 13 cents to $22.56.

Texas Instruments Inc. fell 4 cents to $29.56.

Qualcomm Inc. rose 8 cents to $43.24.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. rose 3 cents to $6.06.
