Opening Glance: most Internet software, services stocks rise
NEW YORK—Internet software and services stocks mostly rose modestly Monday morning with the broader market as investors awaited any further news of possible negotiations between Yahoo Inc. and Microsoft Corp.
The deadline for Yahoo's acceptance of Microsoft's $44.6 billion takeover bid passed Saturday with no deal.
Also Monday, Chinese Internet portal operator Sohu.com Inc. reported a rise in first-quarter earnings.
How key Internet software and services companies performed Monday morning:
Google Inc. rose $9.87 to $553.93.
Yahoo Inc. fell 11 cents to $26.69.
EBay Inc. rose 50 cents to $31.80.
VeriSign Inc. rose 39 cents to $35.63.
Akamai Technologies Inc. rose 47 cents to $35.35.![]()
