Closing Glance: Computer, peripheral stocks rise

NEW YORK—Computer and peripheral stocks rose Thursday with the overall market, which climbed as investors were cheered by the rising dollar and declining oil prices.

How some key computer and peripheral companies' shares performed Thursday:

Apple Inc. rose $6.05, or 3.5 percent, to close at $180.

International Business Machines Corp. rose $2.91, or 2.4 percent, to $123.61.

Hewlett-Packard Co. rose $1.68, or 3.6 percent, to $48.03.

Lexmark International Inc. rose $1.70, or 5.4 percent, to $33.09.
