NEW YORK—Shares of biotechnology companies closed higher Monday, defying a decline in the broader market after Microsoft Corp. withdrew its $47.5 billion bid for Yahoo Inc. and oil prices continued rising.
Here's how several key biotechnology stocks performed Monday:
Gilead Sciences Inc., up 4 cents to $53.67.
Amgen Inc., down 14 cents to $42.79.
Biogen Idec Inc., up 70 cents to $63.01.
Genentech Inc., up 55 cents to $67.79.
