NEW YORK—Shares of computer and peripheral makers traded mixed Friday while the overall market declined as insurer American International Group Inc. reported a wider-than-anticipated loss and oil prices rose to a new peak.

How some key computer and peripheral companies' shares performed Friday:

International Business Machines Corp. fell 86 cents to $124.06.

Lexmark International Inc. rose 6 cents to $34.

Apple Inc. fell $1.61 to $183.45.

Hewlett-Packard Co. rose 7 cents to $49.13.
