Microsoft chair Bill Gates sells 1M shares
NEW YORK --Bill Gates, who is the chairman of Microsoft Corp., sold 1 million shares of common stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday.
In a Form 4 filed with the SEC, Gates reported selling the shares on Wednesday for $29.59 to $30.06 apiece.
Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.
Microsoft is based in Redmond, Wash.
