Best Buy selling used iPhones
CHICAGO - Best Buy Co. Inc. will sell refurbished iPhones at hundreds of stores, the consumer electronics chain said yesterday.
The 3G phones, all of which were returned within 30 days of their purchase, will be sold for $50 less than new models. That means the refurbished 8 gigabyte model will sell for $149 and the 16 gigabyte model will be available for $249.
The phones can be found at the Richfield, Minn.-based chain's Best Buy Mobile stores. By the end of the month, they'll be available at all Best Buy stores that offer AT&T service, which is required for the phone.
"The refreshed iPhone is a great example of the depth of our offering, and clear evidence of why Best Buy is the best place to purchase a mobile phone," Scott Moore, vice president of marketing for Best Buy Mobile, said in a statement.
In September, Best Buy became the first US chain to sell the popular phone outside of Apple Inc.'s and AT&T Inc.'s own stores. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. began selling the phones late last month. ![]()
